Missionaries to Spain Baptist Mid-Missions

February 2020

What a Relief and What a Responsibility

I am preparing to teach a five-hour course on the life of Joshua on March 14 in Northern Spain. My study has reminded me of two great truths. One is that when it comes to the promises of God, they are eternal, and they will come to pass. As the Land of Canaan was a promise to Israel, Moises and Joshua were instruments used of God to bring that promise to pass.   What a RELIEF it is to know that God’s promises do not depend upon me. I am just one of many missionaries that have participated in the spread of the Gospel in the past and there will be those after me who will continue to communicate the promise of eternal life through Christ. The second truth is that we are RESPONSIBLE. As Joshua was responsible, to continue the work, ours is to be faithful to the Lord, to our sending church and to all of you who pray for us. To continue the work of spreading the seed of the good news and to train others to take our place (2 Timothy 2:1-2).

December was an encouraging month when we had many opportunities to be used of the Lord and to receive many blessings. We were invited to participate in a Mission’s Conference at Maranatha Baptist Church in Lakeland, Florida. Being a Hispanic Church, it was encouraging to see and hear their passion for missions and desire to send, pray and support missionaries. Tim had the privilege to preach twice. Since the Conference was only 20 miles from Tim’s father’s house we stayed there and enjoyed a brief 10 days with him (he is 92 years young). Another blessing was when we returned to Spain, we had three more practice sessions with the choir and they did a good job presenting the gospel message through song, scripture readings and three short messages on the words Joy, Peace and Love.  A good number of unsaved visitors heard a clear presentation of God’s redeeming grace. Another blessing was the Christmas cards we received from some of you and the special Christmas gifts that came in during November and December – Thank you very much. Pam was invited to speak to an area wide ladies meeting on Jan 25th, there were about one hundred ladies present.

2020 began with the loss of two supporters which is a total of $550 monthly support. Our support level is now down to 67%. Please join us in prayer that the Lord will meet that need and we praise Him because that request is beginning to be answered.

We will be traveling a lot during the first 4 months of 2020. We will travel here in Spain to do pulpit supply and to be involved in different conferences. Pray for our travels to Northern Spain March 14 and also for our trip to France (April 20-24) where Tim will preach six times to the Baptist Mid-Missions missionaries during their annual retreat and business meetings. We will also have three sessions with the young people in that same retreat.

We praise the Lord for your faithfulness to support us with your prayers and financial gifts.  We also are thankful for His faithfulness and look forward to seeing how He will work all things out for His honor and glory.

Your Missionaries to Spain,

Tim and Pam Darling
